In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, American Standard Brands issued a voluntary recall of Crane whirlpool bath tubs manufactured by Crane Plumbing, LLC on March 2, 2009. The recall is due to an incorrect pump motor/suction system assembly. No injuries or complaints have been reported in relation to this suction mechanism. However, management of American Standard Brands believe that the suction mechanism in the Crane whirlpool baths presents the potential for hair entrapment hazard and has initiated this voluntary recall in the interest of consumer safety.
